My background is in Electronic Engineering; I have a Diploma, HTC and Higher Diploma in the subject.

I also hold two recent  City & Guilds qualifications - Level 2 Digital TV Installation (domestic) and Level 3 Digital TV Servicing (commercial) achieved  with thanks to Steve Williams and his team at Swansea College in Tycoch.

RDI - Registered Digital Installer

This has been a Government-backed scheme that was devised to provide an army of trusted, qualified engineers, who will help enable the UK’s switchover to digital television, meaning that those consumers who need their aerial system upgrading in order to receive digital TV have a trusted source of advice. Indeed a ‘gold’ standard for the aerial industry and help to drive out “cowboy” operators from it. The scheme was launched in London on 16 March 2006 by the Rt. Hon Alun Michael MP, Minister for Industry and the Regions.

In order to operate my business to a professional standard I must be a Registered Digital Installer with the RDI Licensing Board. This needs to be renewed annually. It involves me having a basic CRB police check and provision of £2million public liability insurance.
